This book is a condensed version of my detailed tract: “History of the Qur’ān: A Critical Study.” Like the latter book, this shorter version only deals with the collection and transmission history of the Qur’ān. The present work is meant to provide students of the Qur’ān – who find it daunting to read the voluminous original work – a summary of the study. Footnotes in this abridgement will guide the reader to the original study whenever they want to consult it for details.
